Rex came to us with a challenge – to make them a super creative brand film that would celebrate their unique products whilst also enabling them to engage more customers and drive traffic to their e-commerce site. They wanted Small Films to come up with the creative concept, tell their story with a compelling script and then realise that vision. The overall objective was to drive sales of their products in the lead up to Christmas.
Our Creative Solution
We delved deep into Rex’s history, the tone of voice of their brand and looked carefully at the customers they service as well as the products they offer. It became clear that their greatest assets were the unique illustrations on their products which were designed in-house by their design team. We decided to bring these products to life through bespoke animation, literally making them jump off the page.
From a creative perspective, we made a wonderfully engaging brand film with a mix of product filming and animation. The narrative tells a compelling story whilst also leaving the viewer with a fantastic, memorable impression of the brand. Beyond creativity, we drove tangible results for Rex. They ran this film as a Christmas advertising campaign on YouTube, and they saw phenomenal engagement. Despite it being a skippable ad, around 20% of people watched to 100% of the video length. This film helped contribute to sales figures that were 40% higher than the previous year’s revenue.
