THE OBJECTIVE
Marlborough College Malaysia commissioned Small Films to deliver a comprehensive content strategy aimed at boosting its visibility in a fiercely competitive education landscape. At the heart of this initiative was a bold, cinematic film built to make a strong first impression.
This video needed to communicate the school’s distinguished legacy, its deep-rooted connection to Marlborough College UK, and its renowned academic standards. The aim was to convey a blend of heritage and forward-thinking innovation.
A crucial narrative element was the Master’s core philosophy: Work Hard, Get Involved & Be Kind. This was interwoven with the school’s foundational principles—empathy, friendship, and rich interpersonal dialogue.
THE SOLUTION
In addition to the main promotional video, the production included a boarding-focused piece and a personal, heartfelt welcome from the Headmaster. Each video played a distinct role in representing various facets of school life and resonating with different audiences.
Following an extended period of story development and planning in the UK, the Small Films team travelled to Malaysia for a focused two-week filming period. This allowed us to fully engage with the environment and genuinely reflect the school’s ethos on screen.
Using a full-scale production crew and top-level gear—including premium cameras and cinematic lenses—we filmed sweeping visuals of the campus. Interviews with students, teachers, and families added emotional depth and authentic voices to the story.
THE RESULT
The outcome was a stunning series of three films, each capturing a different perspective on life at Marlborough College Malaysia. The videos express the school’s spirit, values, and commitment to developing the whole student.
These assets have gained traction across multiple digital channels, making an impact both locally and across global markets. They now act as standout marketing tools—highlighting Marlborough Malaysia’s dynamic culture, state-of-the-art campus, and inspiring educational model.
