The Brief
Shiplake wanted a brand film that captured the sheer range of opportunities on offer while also marking their transition to co-education. Known for its strong reputation, the school aimed to shift perceptions and attract more female applicants. The challenge was to feature as much as possible, without losing focus or running too long – and to do it all with standout creative flair.

Our Creative Solution
We developed a split-screen concept, allowing us to show two parallel scenes at once, with matching movements and symmetry. This approach doubled the amount of content we could include without extending the runtime. With two crews working simultaneously and their charismatic Head – a former sports presenter – voicing the film, we created a slick, high-energy piece packed with personality and visual impact.

The Result
The final film was polished, inventive and full of momentum – bringing to life both the scale and individuality of the Shiplake experience. It delivered a strong creative punch while remaining warm and authentic. The school was delighted with the results and now uses the film as a key promotional tool to support its evolution into a thriving co-educational community.
Shiplake College had a hugely positive experience working with the Small Films team. They really got to know us as a school and this led to a brilliant and ambitious storyboard that was executed professionally and seamlessly, whilst having fun at the same time. The outcome was a unique concept that showcased our ethos and we proudly show the film on our website, socials and during events. I have no hesitation in recommending Small Films. Kat Green, Shiplake
