Two high-impact promotional videos

United Learning

THE OBJECTIVE

United Learning—a prominent educational trust with over 100 academies and independent schools across the UK—commissioned Small Films to create an engaging video series that would reinforce both its recruitment efforts and training programme outreach.

The project centred around two main goals. The first was to increase awareness and applications for open roles within the organisation, showcasing the range and value of careers available across the United Learning network.

The second was to drive interest in United Teaching, their distinctive training programme for new educators. The films needed to spotlight its practical, experience-rich approach, along with the benefits of learning and growing within a values-based, supportive culture.

THE SOLUTION

To communicate these stories effectively, we filmed honest, compelling interviews with a wide selection of teachers based in United Learning schools across different regions. Each voice offered a unique and personal insight into their professional journey.

Our team visited schools in Manchester, Cambridge, and two London-based locations, where we met educators from a variety of backgrounds. Through their stories, we painted a rich, relatable picture of what it means to be part of the United Learning community.

We used Eye-Direct technology for interviews, helping contributors speak openly and sincerely to the camera. This created a direct connection with viewers, conveying real experiences around teaching culture, benefits, and development pathways.

THE RESULT

The final product is a compelling pair of films, supported by a suite of short-form content designed for social sharing. These videos feature warm, engaging stories from teachers genuinely invested in their work and the values of United Learning.

Each video portrayed the organisation as a rewarding place to work—highlighting superior pay, excellent professional development, and more time to focus on what matters most. The films struck a tone that was both heartfelt and motivating, fully aligned with United Learning’s vision.

The project was delivered with creativity and clarity, meeting all objectives and receiving glowing feedback from the United Learning marketing team.

Hannah Hamilton, Director of Marketing, shared her thoughts on the collaboration:

“The whole team at Small Films was a joy to work with. They are all highly skilled and professional, and they felt engaged and enthusiastic about our objectives. We wanted a high-quality production to emphasise our message and our brand, and that’s exactly what we got. I would be very happy to work with them again in the future.”

We’re grateful for the partnership and excited about the possibility of collaborating again in the future.
