THE OBJECTIVE
Following comprehensive audience analysis and a brand evolution project, King’s College Taunton partnered with Small Films to produce a suite of video assets that reflect student life across all year groups, while presenting the school’s revitalised identity and strategic positioning.
This multi-video initiative needed to capture the essence of King’s College’s educational approach—spanning nursery to sixth form—emphasising its student-first ethos and strong emphasis on equipping young people with essential skills for an ever-evolving future.
The core purpose of this campaign was to reaffirm King’s College’s place as the leading independent school in the Southwest. The content was intended to take centre stage on the school’s newly launched website and be shared extensively across social platforms, YouTube, and through targeted digital ads.
THE SOLUTION
Working hand-in-hand with the talented marketing team at King’s College, Small Films designed a production plan that delivered close to 20 individual video assets. These included two looping homepage videos, eight student-led interview features, and a selection of short clips tailored for social use.
Filming took place over four springtime days, during which we gathered interviews with students aged from just five years up to those in their final year preparing for university. These candid conversations explored their experiences with everything from sports and academics to boarding life and pastoral care.
To showcase the school’s vast and scenic Somerset campus, two production teams worked simultaneously—capturing activities from CCF and team sports to drama, forest school and design technology. The experience of filming at such a welcoming school and meeting its inspiring pupils was a true highlight.
THE RESULT
An emotionally rich series of eight interviews brought to life with cinematic visuals of real pupils, modern learning environments and meaningful staff-student connections. The school’s homepage now proudly features two montage-style autoplay films reflecting King’s core principles.
The “Courage” film demonstrates how students are empowered to face life’s challenges, develop resilience, and become adaptive lifelong learners. Meanwhile, the “Encourage” piece portrays the school’s nurturing environment, highlighting how every student is supported to succeed and thrive.
Astra Baker, Director of Marketing at both King’s College Taunton and King’s College Prep, expressed her delight with the final outcome of the video series.
